Bond 2020 Renovations at Sam Houston HS

What is the status of renovations at Sam Houston High School? 

Sam Houston High School renovations are underway and progressing. The structure for the new black box theater (at the front of the school) is going up, and the foundation for the new competition gym at the back of the campus is underway. Work is also moving along on the new dance studio and weight room, as well as on locker room renovations. 

What is included in the renovation? 

The renovation project includes a new competition gym, mat room and weight room; renovated locker rooms and training room; renovated athletic concourse; new gallery area and black box theater space; renovated auditorium; relocated and expanded dance studio; and new student entrance, concourse area, and learning stairs. 

When will construction be completed? 

Renovations are expected to be completed in fall 2026. 

When will we be able to use the newly renovated spaces? 

Once the project is completed, a move-in date that coincides with a school break would need to be selected for move-in to the new spaces.
