Fall 2020:

Phase 1, which includes 20 classrooms, received a temporary certificate of occupany to start the 2020/21 school year.

As Phase 2 is being worked on, demolition and abatement work is ongoing in these areas.

Renovations and upgrades to the Tafolla Middle School project include classroom spaces (general learning, science, fine arts, music and special education), restrooms, cafeteria and kitchen, auditorium, HVAC, plumbing and electrical, lighting, fire sprinklers, special needs accessibility in the entryways, restrooms and other areas, front-entry modifications to include security feature improvements, and roofing, building exterior and site improvements.

Tafolla is unique in the sense that construction is planned to be in conjunction with Lanier HS. The design team met with Principal Jeff Price and discussed the existing building conditions and the campus teaching pedagogy at Tafolla. As the design progresses, we will begin to incorporate Project Advisory Team meetings.
