What is the greatest challenge you have overcome during your education so far and how did you overcome it?
As a Cancer Survivor, Healy-Murphy welcomed me in during the lowest phase of my life, they created a learning environment that enhanced new growth and self development as a foundation for my life. During the process of attending school here, my perspective on life and my education has changed. I now know how to deal with obstacles the right way and not suppress or ignore them. They have taught me how to lead out of pure integrity and not out of my emotions. I’ve learned how to walk with people from all aspects of life and how to encourage them right where they are. Because of Healy Murphy I have a healthy perspective about myself and can plant that seed into the lives of others.
What is the greatest challenge you have overcome during your education so far and how did you overcome it?
My greatest challenge has been managing my anxiety. Graduation has worried me because it’s a big step that will bring more unknown. Having my support system has helped but the unknown future and knowing what life would be like after graduation is scary. I have learned that anxiety is the fear of the unknown. My community has helped me make plans, apply to college and learn about each step. The ability to work through this has helped me overcome.
As a leader of the class of 2024, what is your hope for the Class of 2024 as they move on to the next chapter of their lives?
Take it one step at a time. You cannot plan everything at once. Do what you can in the present moment. Breathe. You can do this!;
