In early 2021, more than 600 San Antonio ISD employees will relocate to a new, consolidated administration building located on North Flores Street adjacent to the Fox Tech High School campus. The approximately 140,000 square foot Central Administration building will incorporate 15,000 square feet of conference room space, which includes a board room as well as various conference rooms scattered throughout the entire building. Additionally, there will be 6,500 square feet of dining space and a 2,150 square foot fitness center.

The District will generate approximately $1 million in annual operational savings as a result of the efficiencies of a new, consolidated facility. The construction is at no cost to taxpayers and is funded 100 percent through the previous sales of District real estate.

The following offices and departments will be housed in the new Central Administration building: Executive (Superintendent); Accountability; Chief Operations Officer; Communications and Printing Services; Financial Services and Business Operations; Government and Community Relations; Human Resources; Internal Auditing; School Leadership; Security Dispatch; Talent Management; and Technology and Management Information Systems.

SAISD employees will enjoy more than an acre and a half of green space, as well as views of and access to the north end of the recently developed San Pedro Creek Culture Park.

Additionally, the District and Bexar County are partnering on the construction of a parking garage at the site of the new building. Under the agreement, Bexar County will invest $17.2 million to construct a 600-space garage, to be operated and maintained by the County. SAISD will lease the garage for the exclusive use of its employees during business hours. Anticipated completion of the garage is by the end of the first quarter of 2021. An extra 49 surface-level parking spaces also will be available.
