The focus of the Growth and Development Committee is to provide feedback to the district on it's goals in:

• providing thriving schools that offer rigorous and expansive instruction and programming
• are fully and efficiently utilized, and
• are adequately and equitably funded.

In order to accomplish this purpose, the committee will:

• Review data on SAISD enrollment, facility capacity, and Bond planning;
• Review information related to population, shifting city demographics, housing growth, and infrastructure
• and more

The committee is comprised of at least:

• 2 member from each comprehensive high school feeder pattern
• 2 members from local elected office
• 2 members representing local business
• 3 members from communities impacted by the November 2023 rightsizing decision
• 3 members from communities not impacted by the November 2023 rightsizing decision
• 2 members who are parents or legal guardians of current SAISD students
• 2 members who are current SAISD students
• 2 members who are current district-based SAISD staff
• 2 members who are current campus-based SAISD staff
