Aug. 9 (Fri) – Lanier High School Back-to-School Resource Fair

The district is hosting a Back-to-School Resource Fair to help students and families be ready for the first day of school. Families and students will receive assistance with registration, information on community programs and services, groceries from the San Antonio Food Bank, and appointments for vaccines.
Aug. 10 (Sat) – SAISD 10th annual Athletic Hall of Fame
3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Alamo Convocation Center, 110 Tuleta Drive, 78212
San Antonio ISD will celebrate its 10th annual Athletic Hall of Fame by inducting five new honorees. The inductees include retired professional basketball player Orlando Mendez-Valdez, NFL alum Wade Key, legendary baseball pioneer John Miles, WNBA difference maker Theresa Diane Acosta, and the historic 1979 Brackenridge High School city championship football team.
Aug. 13 (Tues) – First Day of School at SAISD campuses

San Antonio ISD will celebrate its 125th anniversary of being the founding school district for the city by welcoming students at all campuses for the First Day of School. A new school year always brings new energy and new dreams. The SAISD Familia is eager to begin the journey of the 2024-25 school year with our students.
Aug. 16 (Fri) – St. Philip’s Early College High School 10th anniversary Legacy Day
3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., St. Philip’s Early College High School, 1801 Martin L. King Drive, 78203
St. Philip’s is housed in the Bowden Legacy Building, the original site of St. Philip’s College. That historic building has just been renovated. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be among the highlights of a special ceremony commemorating the 10-year anniversary of St. Philip’s Early College High School.
