Aug 20 (Tues) – SAISD Foundation Back to School Teacher Shopping Day
4 p.m. to 6 p.m., HEB (TBA) and Lakeshore Learning Center, 327 NW Loop 410, 78216
This is a great story about how San Antonio is always ready to help others in need. A local woman saw a story about the Foundation giving out $100 gift cards to new teachers in the district, to help offset the cost educators pay out of their own pocket for supplies. This anonymous person then made a donation to the SAISD Foundation that will provide $250 gift cards to ALL teachers at three SAISD campuses: Margil Elementary, ML King Academy and Green Elementary at Riverside Park. The shopping sprees will take place at the Lakeshore Learning Center and at an H.E.B location that is still to be determined.
 
Aug 20 (Tues) – SAISD District 7 Facilities Repurposing Update

San Antonio ISD has a Facilities Repurposing Panel that will guide the district in determining the most appropriate use of schools closed as part of the November 2023 rightsizing decision and in previous school closures. The community is invited to learn about the facilities repurposing process, an approximate timeline, and how individuals and organizations can participate in the future. The community is invited to Will Rogers Academy for a fun filled Back-to-School Bash! The campus is in partnership with Mission Vineyard church and the DoSeum to connect families with valuable resources.
