SAISD SPOTLIGHT: Election season fever hits Carvajal Elementary
Carvajal Elementary teachers Danielle Salgado and Cynthia Bever kick off campus campaigns for classroom bearded dragons.
Carvajal Elementary wants students to know that voting is an important part of being a responsible citizen. A pair of teachers are pitting their classroom pet bearded dragons against each other in a first of its kind campus election for the office of “Master Carvajal Pet”! The two candidates are named Charzard Salgado and Eevee Bever. Charzard is the pet for Danielle Salgado’s 5th grade class, while Eevee is the mascot candidate for Cynthia Bever’s 2nd grade class.
Both candidates and classrooms promise positive and informative campaigns. Voter registration cards will be distributed to students over the next few weeks. All students need to register to vote. Carvajal students will then cast their ballots on Election Day on Tuesday, November 5. Let the best bearded dragon win!
