Sept. 16, 2024 – The San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees heard from community members tonight on the topic of a proposed downtown baseball stadium. The stadium initiative relies on developing land near the Fox Tech campus, including a 2.3-acre tract of land owned by the district that is used for parking. The community members made their views heard during Citizens’ Presentations, which occurs at the beginning of the board meeting.
Following the citizen’s input, Board President Christina Martinez requested a point of privilege. Martinez confirmed the trustees will deliberate on the issue later in the evening during closed session. She also referred to the Board Goals and Guardrails, which holds the trustees accountable to the community.
“The board will take no action on this matter until we have had a community meeting to gather additional public input,” Martinez said.
The district plans to schedule and coordinate a public meeting in October.
