Sept. 25, 2024 – The San Antonio ISD Board of Trustees
invites the community to a public discussion on a 2.3-acre tract of land on Camaron Street that is owned by the district. The board is actively discussing the sale of the land as part of a proposed downtown baseball stadium and is seeking public input to inform its decision. The meeting is on Monday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m., at the SAISD Central Office Board Room, 514 W. Quincy.
The Trustees heard from some community members during their board meeting on Sept. 16, on the topic of a proposed downtown baseball stadium. The community members shared their views during the Citizens’ Presentations, which occur at the beginning of the board meeting.
Following the citizens’ input at the board meeting, SAISD Board President Christina Martinez requested a point of privilege. She confirmed that trustees would discuss the issue later that evening during closed session, and they would take no action until they hold a community meeting to secure additional public input. She also referred to the Board Goals and Guardrails, which hold the trustees accountable to the community.
