San Antonio ISD’s Rogers College Prep Middle School will hold a ribbon ceremony and tour to highlight new and newly renovated facilities under the 2020 bond program.

In November 2020, San Antonio ISD voters passed two propositions totaling $1.3 billion for major renovations and security, technology and HVAC upgrades. Smaller-scope renovations have been completed at Bowden Academy and J.T. Brackenridge Elementary. Rogers College Prep Middle School is the first large-scale renovation project to be completed under Bond 2020, with two more projected to be completed within the next few months: Highlands High School and CAST Med High School.

Due to inflation and labor and material challenges brought on by the pandemic, the major renovation projects were strategically placed in phases to stagger the construction start dates. The district recently reached the milestone of having all Phase 2 projects designed, with the majority currently under construction. Currently, 13 major renovation projects are under construction, and another three, including Rogers College Prep Middle School, have been completed.

The $25.7 million allocated to Rogers College Prep Middle School paid for:
·         Construction of a new competition gym
·         Renovation of the old competition gym for use as a secondary gym
·         Transformation of the original secondary gym to a fine arts space
·         Relocation and upgrading of the library
·         Improvements to the existing auditorium
