WHAT:
Students from Rodriguez Montessori Elementary School will don traditional white and black attire, and flower headbands and masks, as they lead a procession to their Annual Muertitos Festival in honor of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a celebration that honors deceased loved ones and welcomes their spirits back. There will be music, food, and more as part of this celebration and fundraising event.

4:10 p.m. Procession around Spark Park takes place
4:30 p.m. Opening remarks by the Ofrenda (Altar in remembrance of loved ones)
4:30 – 7 p.m. Muertitos Fest
WHERE:
The procession will take place from Rodriguez Montessori Elementary School, 3626 W. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd., and lead to Spark Park located next door to the school. Kindergarten through 5th grade students to lead procession.
MORE:
Día de los Muertos is a time to remember the lives of those who have died, and to celebrate life. The celebration is rooted in pre-Hispanic Mexican and Spanish traditions. Rodriguez Montessori Elementary is one of two public Montessori schools in San Antonio and the only public, dual language Montessori in the area.
