Nov. 12, 2024 – Unilever, H-E-B, the San Antonio Independent School District (SAISD) Foundation and the City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation are celebrating Texas Recycles Day with an award ceremony on Nov. 15, 2024 to name the winning San Antonio elementary schools who participated in this fall’s recycling contest. This will be year 3 of this initiative. There will also be a ribbon-cutting event at the new outdoor recreation area at San Antonio ISD’s Sarah King Elementary, which will feature play and sports areas made with recyclable materials.
WHAT: Supported by an in-store fundraising campaign and a donation from both Unilever and H-E-B, SAISD Foundation will award local elementary schools with grants up to $10,000 for needed projects as a recognition for their students recycling efforts this fall. There will also be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the beautification of the Sarah King Elementary school playground. The event will gather company leaders, elected officials, and leaders and staff of SAISD. Teachers, school leaders and students of the participating schools will also attend.
