SAISD SPOTLIGHT: Brackenridge High School leads trio of SAISD culinary teams at the Titans of Tailgate event

Titans of Tailgate is a huge event that benefits San Antonio HS culinary education

Brackenridge High School Culinary Arts teacher Rafael Gonzalez loves when his Eagle students showcase their cooking skills out in the public.

Titans of Tailgate (see below) is a perfect opportunity to do that. The annual event is a partnership with Culinaria and Chef Jason Dady to benefit San Antonio High Schools’ needs. This event will directly benefit San Antonio schools by supporting culinary education on those campuses. That includes equipment, funding for knives and prep materials. Brackenridge HS has participated in this event since its inception.

Top San Antonio chefs and their restaurants will be serving up food samplings, tailgate style, alongside several city high school cooking crews. Brackenridge is joined at the event by Burbank High School and Lanier High School, who are both taking part for the first time this year.

The San Antonio Culinary Scene is thriving. So are the aspirations of future chefs who will be cooking next to and learning from some of the finest culinary superstars San Antonio has to offer. The experience and the takeaway for the students is priceless.

Call to schedule a time to visit Brackenridge High School as the crew prepares for this unforgettable experience.
