SAISD SPOTLIGHT: SAISD students “pinned” to recognize their pathway to becoming future classroom teachers
Last year, Travis Early College High School launched an Associate of Arts in Teaching in collaboration with San Antonio College. The program at Travis places students in elementary classroom settings to practice the art of teaching. The future educators have earned their practicum by working student teaching hours at district elementaries.
Now the first cohort of Principles in Teaching students are that much closer to entering the teaching pipeline. Travis ECHS and San Antonio College are hosting a special pinning ceremony (see below) to celebrate the students accomplishing the first part of their goal of becoming a classroom teacher.
Clinton Roberson is the instructor of the Principles in Teaching class at Travis ECHS. His passionate leadership has inspired these high school students to be the kind of teachers the next generation of students will need.
