MORE: This is Whittier Middle School’s third annual Multicultural Festival. The event draws hundreds of community members to view cultural performances and taste great street food from around the world.
Performers include the Whittier jazz band, Whittier Conjunto band, South Korean dancers, and dancers from India.
The event will feature food representative of 10 geographic areas: China, the Caribbean, Germany, Hawaii, Honduras, Italy, India, Mexico, the Navajo Nation and South Korea.
Students will be performing on the stage, creating displays for the event, and decorating. Teachers from the Hawaiian Islands, Honduras and the Caribbean are sponsoring tables to teach visitors about their own history. A Whittier family is hosting a table on India to share their traditions with the community.
