The SAISD Foundation is hosting their annual Golf FORE Excellence Tournament. All proceeds go towards supporting the mission of SAISD students and staff.
April 2 (Wed) – Woodlawn Hills Elementary Gardopia Harvesting Finale
4 p.m. to 5 p.m., Woodlawn Hills Elementary,?110 W. Quill Drive, 78228
The Gardopia Harvesting Finale promises to reward students with an event that they will cherish knowing the fruit of their labor produced a good thing. Gardopia Gardens will be visiting Woodlawn Hills Elementary to have a final lesson consisting of harvesting their crop. Students have worked on planting, weeding, and fertilizing their garden. After harvesting, students will create a salad or a smoothie from the goods of their garden.
April 3 (Thurs) – Lanier students build beds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace

Lanier High School is bussing students to the non-profit organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace for the third blitz of bed building by SAISD construction classes. The 120 bunk beds being made will be delivered to homes in need of proper sleeping amenities.
April 5 (Sat) – Hillcrest Elementary 2nd annual Autism Awareness Walk?
7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Concepcion Park, 600 Theo Parkway, 78210
The Hillcrest Elementary Run Club returns for their 2nd Annual 5K Walk for Autism Awareness. District 3 City Councilwoman Phyllis Viagran will join the festivities at Concepcion Park. The Burbank High School mariachis will be on hand to provide entertainment. SAISD partners for the event include Morgan’s Wonderland, Any Baby Can and Spurs Give Back.
April 5 (Sat) – SAISD Kickstarts Fiesta with a Career Fair

SAISD is kicking off Fiesta with its Viva SAISD Familia Career Fair. The district is recruiting teachers, instructional assistants, police officers, bus drivers, plumbers and more. There will be on-site hiring and in-person interviews – plus mariachis, folklórico and Fiesta celebrations. SAISD offers teacher salaries starting at $58,400 with opportunities to earn up to $26,000 extra with the Master Teacher Initiative, summer and winter breaks, plus more.
